PrivateMeds (Privatemeds.co.uk)
privatemeds sounds like one of those dodgy online sites providing cheap drugs, no questions asked, but that is not quite the case. It's true privatemeds offers its services to men with erectile dysfunction, and certainly there is no known method of online treatment for the condition other than pharmaceuticals, but this operation has upgraded itself by providing what purport to be genuine doctors, which the site calls "UK registered Doctors." privatemeds goes so far as to name one of those doctors, who is apparently a general practitioner (what else?) called Dr Nitin Shori. It is on the page that announces Dr Shori's appointment that we learn what privatemeds actually does: it employs ordinary doctors who have practices of their own in the UK to write online prescriptions. The National Health Service, says privatemeds, has scant supplies of the types of medications privatemeds can furnish. Thus, customers (it is difficult to say "patients" in this context) who wish to avoid the use of "fake medications from illegal sites" have the option of turning to privatemeds and receiving their prescriptions in the mail from a business called, not very reassuringly, Pharmacy2U Limited. But the privatemeds site suggests that disclosure is the end of any questionable information on the business, unless of course they are themselves dispensers of the illicit drug versions and simply not owning up to it in public. There's no way to know for certain without ordering and testing medication from privatemeds, but the company claims to be regulated by the Care Quality Commission, which is certainly the UK's regulatory inspection arm.
So privatemeds is definitely an online drug vendor, but as such enterprises go it is a highly reputable example of the type. Best of all, from the standpoint of testing reliability, privatemeds' stated business model makes perfect sense: what harried, underpaid GP would not gladly supplement his income by writing online prescriptions for nonaddictive medications in the hours after his practice closes? privatemeds is very straightforward about providing a menu of its pharmaceutical options, which include nothing remotely likely to tempt the recreational user. Even the weight loss pill offered, Xenical, acts to block fat absorption rather than to depress appetite by stimulating the heart rate.
