Origin Publishes publishes a string of lifestyle magazines in the UK. Launching in 1997 with a pair of craft magazines Origin has grown to encompass twenty regularly published periodicals. From crafts to health and fitness Origin Publishes has become one the most successful publishers on the UK magazine scene.
Origin Publishing's flagship title The World of Cross Stitching was soon joined by Cross Stitch Card and Cross Stitch Crazy. These three titles still form the heart of Origin Publishing's craft series and are still published regularly today. With an eye to branching out into other areas of lifestyle interests, Origin launched a home beauty line of magazines including Your Hair and Hair Ideas. The latter is currently the leading UK hair fashion title. Branching into the hobby enthusiast market, Origin Publishing launched KOI. Devoted solely to the keeping and caring of Japanese Koi carp, KOI has become a leading publication for Koi enthusiasts.
In 2004 Origin Publishing was acquired by the BBC, and began publishing specialty magazines for their parent company. Origin's expertise in publishing made them the perfect choice to handle the BBC's publishing needs. But Origin Publishing's management saw brighter things ahead and before long severed their relationship with the BBC.
Recent years have seen Origin Publishing adding to it's roster of magazine titles. Branching in to the sporting magazine arena with 220 Triathlon, and entering the wedding market with Perfect Weddings. Home craft is what started Origin and continues to be the heart of the publication firms roster. Recently launched titles like Knit Today, Cross Stitch Gold and Card Making and Paper Craft ensure that Origin Publishing remains at the top of home craft enthusiast reading lists.
